The location of the Barnyard RV Park threw us off a bit because it was behind a flea market. It wasn't hard to find though. Upon arrival, check-in was a breeze. The campground was clean and the sites offered plenty of space. We only stayed overnight but it only took us one night to find that the bathrooms were up to date and clean. There is no pool but that was okay since we were not there for too long. It was a nice quiet place to stay especially when you're exhausted from a long drive. They had cable hook-ups and there was a decent variety of channels. There was good water pressure and no problems with 30 amps.
From the moment we pulled in it was easy to see that this campground was beautiful. We arrived early afternoon and checked in at the office. We were greeted by the very friendly owners that gave us all the info on the surrounding areas. I loved how we were also given all the best kept secrets of the area. The bathrooms, pool, playground and laundry room were immaculate! The campsites were pretty level and kept clean. We spent almost 2 weeks here and we really had a hard time leaving. Smokybear is located about 15 minute from downtown Gatlinburg where you'll easily find places for groceries, restaurants and tons of shopping. Hiking was awesome thanks to wonderful advice! We hope to return next year for a longer stay.
